HUILE D’HELIANTHE BALSAN

 

Balsan oil issues from the first cold pressing of virgin sunflower. 

Seed. Produced in Charente maritime, the cradle of sun­flower production, the seeds of which benefit from the exceptionally sunny climate.

As a result of careful farming, without excess, and under constant supervision the quality of the oil is garanteed due to the certified quality of the seed. Résistant to illness the seed arrives at matu­rity at the begining of september with a reduced level of humidity (7 to 8%).

Transported to the Domaine des Terriers, the harvest is immediatelv sorted, cleaned and all impurities are extracted. The seeds are conserved in well ventilated silos betvreen 5 and 10°c to avoid any treatment with insec­ticides.

The pressing,avoiding all chemical treat­ment,produces an oil rich in vitamins E (55.8mg pour 100g).These vitamins are recognised as elements which protect cellu­lar membranes and helps the body fight against the oxidisation of fatty acids.

The process of decanting and clarifying of the oil is achieved by natural gravity (with­out the use of centrifuge) thus respecting the molecular stucture of the oil.

 The slow painstaking fabrication process ensures an unheated oil of esceptionnal quality.Produced to order,natural virgin sunflower oil made from the cold pressing technique preserves all the nutritional and culinay qualities (a grilled smoky flower with an undeniable sommer scent ).

Balsan sunflower oil possesses a true character which omly a yearly production cycle can produce.The trans­parent bottle helps to show off the truly golden colour of the oil. Sealed with a stopper made from cork and wood,this high quality product will delight people who are looking for new,unexplored tastes.

Pressed on order, the unrefined olive oil of sunflower is obtained by 1st cold pressure.
